Three broad possibilities
- The battery no longer stores energy well
- The charging system is not replenishing it correctly
- An electrical load is drawing power when the car is off
Jump-start success does not prove the battery is bad
A jump only proves the vehicle received enough outside power to crank at that moment. It does not isolate the underlying cause.
Useful details to track
Note how long the vehicle sits before the battery dies, whether warning lights appear, whether headlights dim, and whether the problem began after electrical work or accessory installation.
