Car Cranks But Won't Start

Cranking means the starter is doing something

A normally cranking engine makes a completely failed starter less likely. Diagnosis shifts toward the systems required for the engine to run.

Possible systems involved

Fuel delivery, ignition, engine-management inputs, security/immobilizer systems and mechanical conditions can all create a crank-no-start.

Avoid endless cranking
